Creating a film like BUSTED costs money. And the project is much more than just a feature documentary. We’re also producing short-format social content, building an interactive website that will be a pillar of engagement, and launching an educational initiative by arranging free screenings across college campuses and medical institutions. Our goal is to inform the public of the risks associated with breast implants before a woman chooses breast implant surgery. We also hope to encourage women who think they might have symptoms of BII or ALCL to seek medical attention with this information in hand.
Funding: The project is being funded through a combination of equity investments in the Busted LLC and tax-deductible donations to the film through our fiscal sponsor, From the Heart Productions. A detailed investment prospectus is available upon request.
Fundraising Secured: To date, approx $15,000 has been raised through private donations. We will continue to actively fundraise until the full project budget (approximately $350,000) has been raised.

Your donation to this film provides the much needed financial support to help raise awareness for the rapidly growing number of women who are sick and unaware of BII's long lasting effects. This film not only explains the symptoms of Breast Implant Illness and ALCL anaplastic large cell lymphoma (a cancer that is linked to patients with implants) it also provides resources and answers for the 1000’s of confused and suffering women. Most Insurance Companies DO NOT cover an Explant Surgery. In addition, many women learn about BII only after their illness is so far progressed and they are penniless from the 100s of 1000s of dollars they have paid medical experts trying to figure out what is wrong with them. There is currently no test for BII and most speciality doctors have never heard of Breast Implant Illness. My hope is that this film reaches a mainstream audience and that mandates go into effect that require the FDA and breast implant manufacturers to inform women of their options for both implanting and explanting breast implants.
